Two of the top compact SUVs are the Jeep Cherokee and the Nissan Rogue. They are both similar in size and price, but they have different features that set them both apart.

We recommend that you consider the 2018 Jeep Cherokee because of its amazing off-road capability and how it can be purchased in either four or all-wheel drive.

Power and Handling
2018 Jeep Cherokee – Standard for the 2018 Jeep Cherokee is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine manufactures 184 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. There’s an optional 3.2-liter V6 engine that creates 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Cherokee can be purchased with either front or all-wheel drive; Jeep provides a vehicle equipped for daily street driving, or one perfect for inclimate weather or off-road capability.
2018 Nissan Rogue – The 2018 Nissan Rogue only has one engine option, an 2.5-liter cylinder engine inline-4 engine. It is suitable for commuters, but it doesn’t have nearly as much power as the Cherokee. With a less powerful engine, it will take longer to reach higher speeds.
The base engine in the Cherokee is the more powerful of the two SUV models, offering 184 horsepower at 6400 rpm, as compared to the Rogue’s 179 horsepower at 6000 rpm.
More Reasons to Choose the 2018 Jeep Cherokee at Jerry Ulm Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Tampa FL!
The 2018 Jeep Cherokee and Nissan Rogue both seat 5 people. As the spacing difference is minimal between both vehicles there is no distinct advantage between both vehicles. There is slightly more head and legroom for drivers in the 2018 Nissan Rogue.
If you’re planning on doing any towing with your new SUV, the 2018 Jeep Cherokee is a much more capable workhorse. With the ability to tow much more than the Rogue, the Cherokee gives you peace of mind when pulling a trailer that you simply will not get if you purchase the Nissan Rogue.
Warranties – Nissan and Jeep offer the same warranties, which include a 3-year or 36,000-mile limited basic warranty and a 5-year or 60,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.
The 2018 Cherokee also provides an exciting driving experience, while the Nissan Rogue does not. Simply put, the Rogue is not as exciting to drive as the Cherokee.
